Work in Progress

June 2017

The Box Art Studio opens it’s doors to you! Formerly a maple syrup boiling room, the studio has large walls and tall ceilings to showcase three of its working artists, Brooke Monte, Sam Handler, and Lynne Reed. Monte displays a new body of work differing from his colorful circular overlay patterning, he investigates circuits of modulated stripes of color and value. Handler explores texture, gesture, color, and space with many layers of acrylic paint on canvas. BOX Art Studio welcomes their newest studio mate, Lynne Reed, whose current abstract paintings incorporate plant dyed fleece, felt, and antique quilts. Reed’s compositions are informed by their theatrical lighting and textile design background. Come see the fruits of our labors, have a snack, converse with us, and enjoy some live music and art!
